Feline leukemia virus (FeLV)

A retroviral virus that causes a chronic infection in cats. It leads to a weakened immune system, increased risk of cancer (e.g., lymphoma) and other diseases. Transmission occurs mainly through saliva, cat saliva, and close contact. Vaccination can be preventative.
