Cardiomyopathy

A disease of the heart muscle that leads to impaired heart function. In animals, particularly dogs (e.g. Dobermans, Boxers) and cats, it can cause heart failure and sudden cardiac death. There are different forms, including dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
